Prof.(Dr.)Shakti Kumar is a dynamic computer Engineer with the vision of technical education. He did his M.S.(Electronics and Control)from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS),Pilani and Ph.D.(Electronics and Computer Engg.)from National Institute of Technology (Formerly REC), Kurukshetra.He has served as a faculty member in the department of Electronics & Computer Engineering,NIT Kurukshetra, Department of Computer Engineering,Atlim University,Ankara, Turkey and BITS Pilani,Dubai Centre,UAE. Before taking over as Chairman Board of Governors,ISTK, he held various prestigious positions.He was Co-ordinator, Centre for Excellence in Reliability Engineering at REC (Now National Institute of Technology),Kurukshetra.
He Chaired Technical Sessions for a number of International/National Conferences. He has delivered more than 50 expert lectures in various national & international universities and engineering Colleges. He has published more than 135 research articles in various International/National journals and conferences. He is member of various professional bodies such as IEEE and ISTE. Dr. Kumar is actively engaged in industrial design and consultancy. He has successfully designed a Soft Computing based Prediction System for a UK based multinational firm.
Dr. Kumar was jointly awarded “Sir Thomas Ward Memorial” Subject Award for the paper titled, “Optimizing Handover Performance in Microcellular Systems” in December 2006. He has nominated for "International Man of the year 1997-98" and "Man of the year 2000". Dr. Kumar is also a keen sportsman. He had won Bronze Medal in Throwing the Hammer in Indian Navy Athletics Championship- 1988-89.
